The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
