The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He hath created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
