O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And they who do not associate anything with their Lord 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
