The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 You will become three categories: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
