The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of delight; 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 like hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 Gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
