The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and serried acacias, 29 And spreading shade, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
