The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few of later ages, 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 And extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
