▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 And those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand! 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury), 45 And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme! 46 And they used to say, "When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?" 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
