Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ HALLOWED be He in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Turn your eyes again and again. Your gaze turns back dazed and tired. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 well-nigh bursting with fury; [and] every time a host [of such sinners] is flung into it, its keepers will ask them, "Has no warner ever come to you?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 [As against this,] behold, for those who stand in awe of God although He is beyond the reach of their perception, there is forgiveness in store and a great reward. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
