Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
