The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
