Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden on high, 22 its fruits are near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
