And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
