Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 [And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 "'And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out), 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
