Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
