The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And your clothing purify 4 Pollution shun! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 and who still desires more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. 31
