The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 and purify your clothing, 4 and flee from the statues! 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
