No! By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
