Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: "Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed! 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
