Nay, by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
