Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
