The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 107 so fear Allah, and obey me. 108 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 109 Hence, remain conscious of God, and pay heed unto me!" 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 He said: I have no knowledge of that which they have been Working. 112 Their reckoning rests with none but my Sustainer: if you could but understand [this]! 113 I do not drive away the believers. 114 I am only a plain warner. 115 They said, “O Nooh, if you do not desist you will surely be stoned.” 116 He said: 'My Lord, my nation have belied me. 117 “Therefore make a decisive judgement between me and them, and rescue me and the believers along with me.” 118 So We saved him, and those who were with him in the laden ark, 119 And drowned the rest of them. 120 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 121 But surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 122
