Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
