Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
