Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
