Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
