Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
