Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
