Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
