Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
