Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
