The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
