Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 and the severally severing 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
