The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
