The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 Living therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
