The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
