The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 a fitting requital, 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
