The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
