The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
