The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
