The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
