The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
