The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
