He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, pure. 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and olives and palms, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 his mother, his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
