He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and in awe of God 9 You neglect. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
