The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
