Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 They used to say: 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
