He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 For him who does not care, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And hath fear, 9 you ignore him. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
