The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and brightening morning, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
