The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
